Autumn come Winter
Autumn come Winter
The breeze of Autumn shapes
the leaves of August into rust
red corners where the nettle grows.
The milestone aged and carved concrete waves
speckled grey pebble dust
In the fading Sun rays.
My eyes watch the hours rise
up thru the flowers in disguise.
Far away the sky begins to fill
with thinning clouds of winged and darkened life.
The Quark across the nearby meadow's still
the misted shroud of statue's longing strife.
The crack of morning branch beneath my feet,
sends flutters past my ears as feathers fall
and home the clanking plates as children eat
the forest trees are witness to it all.
